Dalila Belkacemi, winner of the 2005 "Grand Prix de la création de la ville de Paris" (fashion newcomer category), is an accessories designer and visual artist. She launched the Lilakacemi brand in 2006. She experiments with everyday metamorphosis - germination, growth, erosion, oxydation – which always fascinated her, in the aim of making erosion precious. She also works on the notion of hybrid textile accessories - mixing bargain-hunted clothes, handcrafted dye, embroidery, dévoré effect - , at the minute instant when a piece of clothing becomes jewelry and the possible coming-and-goings between these two states. Her ‘jewels’ are delicate frayed silk amulets to tie, in turns necklaces, belts, hair finery, bracelets... using silk, lace, tulle, pearls, sequins, thin chains and etchings...
